Super unpopular opinion that might get me shot.
I can’t stand Eric/Sookie.
I’m just not a fan of Eric, at all. I mean, I think he’s cool and he’s a really interesting character but at the same time he bores me. I dunno, he just feels really hollow and static sometimes, in this bizarre way despite all these layers of backstory. The only times I really truly liked him was with the Godric arc.
And I understand the appeal (I mean, he is fine) but now? With his amnesia? That seriously skeeves me out. Since he doesn’t have his memories, he’s basically a brand new person in my opinion, and his entire demeanor is like a little kid. And I don’t know, seeing Sookie canoodling with someone who’s got the emotional capacity of a seven-year old completely freaks me out. It just - erghhhhh. I know it’s stupid, but it almost feels like she’s taking advantage of his new state to burn out all the pent up attraction she’s had for him. And rationally I know that Eric would totally bang Sookie but it just weirds me out, especially since she’s pretty much been acting like his mom. Errrghhhh, Eric/Sookie, just leave me alone! Show, give me back my happytimes Jessica/Hoyt!

Godric: Do you believe in God?
Sookie: Yes.
Godric: If you’re right, how will he punish me?
Sookie: God doesn’t punish, God forgives.
Godric: I don’t deserve it. But I hope for it.
Sookie: We all do.
Godric: You’ll care for him?
Sookie: I’m not sure, you know how he is.
Godric: I can take the blame for that too.
Sookie: Maybe not. Eric’s pretty much himself… Are you very afraid?
Godric: No, I’m full of joy.
Sookie: But the pain…
Godric: I want to burn.
Sookie: I’m afraid for you.
Godric: A human with me at the end, and human tears. Two thousand years, and I can still be surprised. In this, I see God.
Sookie: Goodbye, Godric.
Godric: We don’t belong here.
Eric: But we ARE here!
God, this scene makes me bawl. It’s one of the few where I actually like Eric.
