So, Legend of Korra takes place about 70 years after the first series. Korra is 16. Apparently everyone from the first series is dead.
That means Team Avatar all died in their 60’s and 70’s.

My guess is that the reason Abigail wanted a husband/fiance strong enough to beat a dragon is because they’d be strong enough to find Fredrick, who I’m guessing is a lover her father got rid of.
